We are always looking for reliable, professional, and customer-oriented drivers to join our team. The drivers will be responsible for transporting people with special needs, to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other destinations as required. The driver will ensure passenger safety, comfort, and satisfaction while adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

If you have previous or current transportation experience and a strong sense of compassion for individuals with special needs, then Able Transport may be the place for you. Other qualities we seek are self-motivation, responsibility, dependability, and politeness, as well as being fluent in English. Speaking a second language is a plus. You must be a safe driver with a clean driving and criminal record, as well as physically capable of assisting passengers who use wheelchairs or other equipment for mobility. Lifting of passengers is not required, but you should be able to push a wheelchair with ease, and be able to provide transfers as needed – this need is not typically required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate a company vehicle to transport passengers to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other destinations as required.
• Ensure passenger safety and comfort by providing assistance as needed, securing passengers in their seats, and maintaining a clean and well-maintained vehicle.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, healthcare providers, and company dispatch to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, including but not limited to traffic laws, vehicle maintenance, infection control, and confidentiality.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of trip logs, passenger information, and other required documentation.
• Participate in training and development programs as required to maintain knowledge and skills, including CPR/First Aid training and Defensive Driving Training.
• No felony charges, serious crimes (murder, manslaughter, felony domestic assault, great bodily harm caused by distribution of drugs, criminal sexual conduct), or moving violations in the past 2 calendar years.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

MUST HAVE

• 21 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
• Must pass drug and alcohol screening, criminal background check, and health screening.
• CPR/First Aid training and Defensive Driving Training.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules and routes.
• Ability to lift and assist passengers with disabilities or special needs as.

PREFERRED

• Previous experience working with seniors or people with disabilities such as experience as paid caregiver at CRS/group home, or PCA and CNA positions.
• Previous experience in transportation or customer service.
